Finger Discoloration
The Barber half dollar has a composition of 90% silver and 10% copper. It is unlikely to discolor your finger unless you know that you have a reaction to silver.
Coin Information
The Barber half dollar was minted from 1892 to 1915 and was designed by chief engraver Charles Barber. The coin features the head of Liberty wearing a crown made from an olive branch and a headband displaying “Liberty”. “In God We Trust” appears above her head and she is surrounded with 13 six-pointed stars. The mint year is displayed at the bottom of the coin, just below Lady Liberty’s head.
